Masayoshi Son Meets with Heads of Major Korean Conglomerates..."Had Many Discussions"

[News S=Reporter Kim Ahyun] Masayoshi Son (Japanese name), chairman of Japanese SoftBank Group, met with heads of major domestic conglomerates on the 4th.

On that day, Chairman Son visited President Moon Jae-in at the Blue House, and then held a dinner meeting at the Korean Furniture Museum in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul at around 7 p.m.

Attendees at the dinner forum included Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Vice Chairman Chung Euisun, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Han Wha Q Cells Executive Director Kim Dong-kwan, as well as Naver Global Investment Officer (GIO) Lee Hae-jin and NC Soft CEO Kim Taek-jin. The meeting, originally scheduled for about one hour, went on for two and a half hours and concluded at around 9:30 p.m.

After the meeting, when asked whether Chairman Son discussed AI-related business with the executives, he responded "yes." When further asked whether Korea's companies would invest together with SoftBank in AI and whether the timing would be this year, he answered "yes, I hope so."

When asked whether he gave advice regarding Japan's export restrictions, he answered "yes, we had many discussions."

Meanwhile, Chairman Son and Vice Chairman Lee arrived at the venue together in a sedan, drawing attention.
