New Face Kim Hyun-kyung Takes Office as 8th Director of Seoul Metropolitan Air Quality Forecasting Office
[News S=Reporter Lee Min-jung] Kim Hyun-kyung, Director of the Climate Science Bureau at the Korea Meteorological Administration, took office as the 8th Director of Seoul Metropolitan Air Quality Forecasting Office on the 19th.
The new Director Kim holds a bachelor's degree in atmospheric science from Seoul National University, a master's degree in atmospheric science from Seoul National University, and a doctoral degree in meteorology from Pennsylvania State University in the United States. He has served as Chief Forecaster at the Korea Meteorological Administration, spokesperson, Director of the Busan Regional Meteorological Office, Director of the Meteorological Service Promotion Bureau, and Director of the Climate Science Bureau.
At his inauguration, Director Kim Hyun-kyung stated, "In the era of climate crisis, I will make a leap toward trustworthy meteorological and climate services by promptly providing customized weather information necessary to protect the lives and property of Seoul metropolitan citizens from weather disasters and by strengthening internal and external communication."
