Baek Kyung-hyun and Yang Hyang-ja Candidates Sign Policy Agreement and Hold Joint Campaign Rally for 'Leap Forward of Northeast Gyeonggi'

[News S=Reporter Um In-yong] Baek Kyung-hyun, the People Power Party candidate for Guri mayor, and Yang Hyang-ja, the candidate for Gyeonggi Province governor, signed a "Joint Promise for the Leap Forward of Northeast Gyeonggi" in Galmaei-dong, Guri, launching full-scale campaign activities.

The two candidates held a joint campaign rally in front of the Galmaei-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 28th, where they signed five policy agreements for the mutual development of Gyeonggi Province and Guri City, and officially declared an "One-Team" for the common development of the Guri region.

The five core policy pledges announced that day included △establishing a Green Smart City in the Guri-Topyeong Han River District △GTX-B station stop at Galmaei Station △swift relocation of Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation △promotion of Guri Techno Valley and relocation of Guri Agricultural and Fishery Products Market △extension of Subway Line 6 (Sinnaei to Guri), comprising tasks spanning regional economic and transportation innovation.

At the rally, Baek Hyun-jong and Lee Eun-ju, candidates for Gyeonggi Province assembly members, along with Lee Kyung-hee, Jang Hyang-suk, Yeon Ju-hyun, and Jin Ji-sung, candidates for Guri City assembly members, and some 500 supporters of the People Power Party gathered, creating a massive red wave.

In addition, Kim Moon-soo, former Gyeonggi Province governor, and Kim Sun-gyo, chairman of the People Power Party's Gyeonggi Province committee, took the stage as support speakers to lend their strength.

Former Governor Kim Moon-soo said, "Administration is not done by words alone, but by running on the ground with our feet, confirming with our eyes, and achieving with our hands," and appealed for support, saying, "Baek Kyung-hyun, a candidate with rich experience and capability, is the right person to lead the development of Guri City."

Yang Hyang-ja, candidate for Gyeonggi Province governor, stated, "Guri City must make a great leap forward not as a subsidiary of Seoul, but as the 'real heart of Gyeonggi Province' capable of self-sufficiency," and emphasized, "The five core policy pledges we made today will be the best groundwork to revitalize Guri and Gyeonggi Province."

She continued, "Regarding key issues such as expanding wide-area transportation infrastructure and improving residential environments in Galmaei-dong and Guri City, I will not hesitate to provide full support and active cooperation from the Gyeonggi Province level," she pledged.

Baek Kyung-hyun, candidate for Guri mayor, said, "The agreement we made today will serve as a firm foundation for the next 100 years of Guri's future, enabling the complete fulfillment of my promised 'Five Reform Tasks' in regions, transportation, education, welfare, and housing."

Regarding the traffic issue, the most pressing concern for residents of Galmaei-dong, he said, "Whether GTX stops at Galmaei Station will determine the value of Galmaei and residents' lives," and promised, "Based on the experience of already engaging in close negotiations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, I will definitely confirm the GTX-B station stop at Galmaei Station during the 9th elected government."

Furthermore, he said, "Candidate Yang Hyang-ja and I must both win together to double the value of Guri City and Galmaei-dong," calling for full support.
