Kim Hee-joong, Hanam City Council Candidate, Declares 'Half-Price Public Transportation Era for Misa Youth'

[News S=Reporter Eom In-yong] Kim Hee-joong, the People Power Party candidate for Hanam City Council member representing the multi-district (Misa 1·2 dong), has announced a 'public transportation livelihood pledge' in the final stretch of the election to shake up the votes of young people and commuting workers in Misa Riverside City, launching a final all-out campaign.

The pledge presented by Candidate Kim is the declaration of 'Half-Price Public Transportation Era for Misa Youth,' which would reduce transportation costs—the largest fixed expense for young commuters working in Seoul—by half.

The core of this pledge is linked with Seoul's 'Climate Action Card,' which has been expanded to include the Hanam section through Misa Station. When young people aged 19 to 39 in Misa use the youth card (5,800 won per month) that allows unlimited use of Ddareung bikes and other public transportation, Hanam City will refund 50% of the used amount in full as regional currency after the fact.

When this pledge is realized, young people in Misa Riverside City will be able to use unlimited subway, bus, and Ddareung bike services traveling between Seoul and Hanam for only 29,000 won (in the 20,000-won range) per month.

For working young professionals who previously spent 60,000 to 70,000 won or more per month on transportation costs, this is expected to increase disposable income by approximately 400,000 won annually, substantially alleviating the heightened inflation burden faced by youth.

In particular, Candidate Kim designed the refund method to be issued not in cash but in regional love gift cards for Hanam City, 'Hamoney.'

As Gyeonggi Province and Hanam City have recently significantly relaxed the store eligibility criteria for 'Hamoney' to include businesses with annual sales of 3 billion won or less, the transportation costs saved by youth are designed to naturally flow into consumption at cafes, restaurants, fitness centers, and other alley businesses centered around Misa Station and within Misa Riverside City.

This is interpreted as a virtuous economic cycle of reducing young people's living expenses while increasing sales for small business owners in the Misa commercial district.

Candidate Kim expressed confidence in the legal and financial feasibility of the realization.

The explanation was that the institutional foundation is already sufficient, as Hanam City has recently begun investing budgets in public transportation support and Climate Action Card payback policies.

Candidate Kim stated, "Immediately upon entering the city council, I will swiftly enact the 'Hanam City Youth Public Transportation Support Ordinance' to establish a legitimate support basis," and emphasized, "Rather than political rhetoric, I will take full responsibility for securing clear city-matched budgets that Misa youth can actually feel in their hearts by reducing the money that goes out of their accounts every month."

Candidate Kim continued, "Misa 1·2 dong is an area with a high concentration of officetel and newly built apartments, with a very high proportion of young people and single-person households commuting to Seoul," and appealed for overwhelming support from Misa youth, saying, "The half-price transportation pledge goes beyond simply cutting fares—it is a powerful 'public health vaccine' that simultaneously revitalizes housing stability for young people and the local economy of Misa. I will become a One-Team with provincial representatives and the mayor, serving as a strong pillar protecting the wallets of our youth."
