Guri Agricultural and Fisheries Corporation Fully Covers Personal Share of '10,000 Won Happiness Insurance'
[News S=Reporter Um In-yong] Guri Agricultural and Fisheries Corporation (CEO Kim Jin-soo, hereinafter the Corporation) signed a business agreement (MOU) on the 29th with Guri Post Office (hereinafter Post Office) and Gyeonggi Guri Regional Self-Reliance Center (hereinafter Center) to support enrollment in the '10,000 Won Happiness Insurance' for vulnerable working-class residents in the area.
The '10,000 Won Happiness Insurance' is a public-interest personal injury insurance operated by the Korea Post Service Headquarters, guaranteeing bereaved family consolation payments, hospitalization fees, and surgical expenses in case of accidents—a social contribution insurance product.
This agreement was pursued to support stable working environments and livelihood stability for a total of 300 people, including self-reliance workers belonging to the Center and prospective self-reliance work candidates (gate personnel) who are participating in work for economic self-sufficiency.
Under the business agreement, the Corporation will fully cover the 10,000 won personal share per enrollee, while the Post Office covers the remaining insurance premium with public-interest funds.
The Center also supports target identification, enrollment guidance, and application procedures, allowing all 300 target individuals to enroll in personal injury insurance without bearing personal expenses, providing a safety net against unforeseen accidents.
Kim Jin-soo, CEO of Guri Agricultural and Fisheries Corporation, stated, "Through this business agreement, we are able to provide a substantial safety net for local self-reliance workers who are working earnestly toward self-sufficiency, which I find very meaningful." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to listen to voices from the field and expand social contribution activities in cooperation with the community so that substantive support can continue to reach those in need."
