[News S=Reporter Yu Je-sung] Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won emphasized: "We will concentrate our capabilities on swiftly advancing the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Third New City project in alignment with the government's initiative to accelerate the pace of new city development."
Mayor Park made these remarks on the afternoon of the 29th at the 'Gwangmyeong-Siheung Third New City Expert Advisory Meeting' held in the city hall video conference room, stating, "As the government is emphasizing improvements in administrative procedures and collaboration between related agencies to increase the pace of new city supply, Gwangmyeong City will also proactively respond to ensure the project proceeds without disruption in line with this direction."

As the central government thus moves forward with institutional improvements and strengthened cooperation systems to enhance the pace of new city supply, Gwangmyeong City also plans to accelerate the pace of business promotion and strengthen implementation capabilities in alignment with this direction.
Mayor Park stated, "In accordance with the government's policy direction, we will closely collaborate with relevant agencies to swiftly advance the project, and concentrate all administrative capabilities on creating a representative self-sufficient city in southwest Seoul metropolitan area equipped with housing, employment, and transportation."
The city plans to work closely with the government, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH), and other related agencies going forward to preemptively identify and resolve factors causing business delays, and actively cooperate to ensure that the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Third New City is developed as planned.
In particular, in line with the government's policy to accelerate new city development pace, the city will strengthen administrative support for licensing and consultation with related agencies, and plans to proactively respond to major issues arising in the project promotion process to expedite project advancement.
Additionally, Gwangmyeong City plans to enhance the quality of the new city alongside speed. The city will continuously consult with related agencies to ensure that the government's expanded policy for high-quality public rental housing is faithfully reflected in the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Third New City, thereby creating a residential environment where unhoused citizens including youth and newlywed couples can settle stably.
Meanwhile, the meeting held on this day was attended by field experts in urban planning, housing, and transportation, who reviewed business promotion strategies and key issues for smooth advancement of the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Third New City, and consulted on response directions according to changes in government policy.
