Yongin Special City Creates 107-Space Temporary Public Parking Lot in Dongcheon-dong, Suji-gu
Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 24th that it has created a temporary public parking lot with a total capacity of 107 spaces on unused land in the vicinity of 125-1, Dongcheon-dong, Suji-gu.
The area has been densely populated with apartments, residential buildings, and restaurants nearby, but residents and customers have faced inconvenience due to insufficient parking space.
In response, the city created a temporary public parking lot with a total area of 4,267 square meters after gathering local residents' opinions in May to alleviate parking shortages in the Dongcheon-dong area.
The city engaged in continuous negotiations with the landowner to utilize unused land within the Dongcheon 2 District urban development project area as a public parking lot, and secured the land through a non-paid lease agreement, significantly reducing financial burden.
Subsequently, the landowner installed basic parking lot facilities such as gravel and fencing, and the city established convenient facilities necessary for use, including vehicle access roads and height restriction structures, completing the parking lot construction.
A city official stated, "We will continue to create temporary public parking lots utilizing unused land around residential and commercial areas where parking environment improvements are urgently needed, not only in Dongcheon-dong."
