Yongin Special City has confirmed 207 campaign pledge projects for the 9th popular election and has begun full-scale implementation.

The Planning and Coordination Task Force selected and consolidated 225 projects, with plans to disclose an implementation plan containing project schedules by year and funding methods to citizens at year-end to pledge enforcement.

According to Yongin Special City on the 26th, the city held a '9th Popular Election Campaign Pledge Project Progress Report Meeting' in the video conference room of City Hall on the 25th to make final checks on departmental pledge goals and promotion methods, anticipated issues, and solutions.

The 207 pledge projects were organized through two stages. The 'Yongin Renaissance 2.0 Planning and Coordination Task Force,' operated from June 15 to July 20, listed 225 projects including the establishment of a special education school, support for AI Convergence Arts High School establishment, and establishment of a rail construction fund, and the city adjusted these in its first review. Similar and duplicate pledges of 8 projects were consolidated into 4 by combining the remodeling of Dongbaek Library and Jukjeon Library into one, and 14 projects that could be completed as one-time events or existing projects were classified as general projects.

The outlines of key projects have also emerged. The rail construction fund will secure part of the increased corporate local income tax from the semiconductor boom as its financial source, establish a basic plan this year, and begin accumulation from 2028 through ordinance enactment next year.

In the education sector, the city is entering consultations with the Provincial Office of Education to establish an AI Convergence Arts High School linked to the relocation and reallocation of a middle school in the Giheung Station area and review sites for establishing a new special education school. In the Idong New Public Housing Complex District and the Idong Reservoir area, the city will promote feasibility studies for the establishment of a complex cultural hub with performance, exhibition, and museum functions.

In the rail sector, the city is preparing follow-up procedures for reflecting the new SRT Guseong Station and the South Gyeonggi Metro, Gyeonggang Line extension, and Gyeonggi South-West Cross Line in the 5th National Railroad Network Construction Plan, and is also working to secure a Yongin station building in line with the Central Region High-Speed Express Railway (JTX) private sector viability survey.

The city plans to prepare an implementation plan that concretizes the confirmed pledges with project goals, annual promotion plans, and funding acquisition measures, and will disclose them on the city's website and other channels at year-end after evaluation by a citizen evaluation committee and gathering opinions.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "Please accelerate projects such as the establishment of special schools that can be moved up," and urged, "Since a considerable budget will be required to properly implement the pledge projects, please thoroughly manage the budget in an integrated manner." He continued, "The City Council will begin full operations in September," and asked, "Please actively communicate with the City Council and make preparations so that the pledge projects can be promoted smoothly."
