Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center and Baewha Women's University Sign Agreement for Visually Impaired Autobiography Project

The Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center (Director Yang Soon-bun) and Baewha Women's University (President Lee Hu-cheon) announced on the 25th that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish industry-academic cooperation and pursue mutual development.

This agreement was prepared to broaden social inclusion by recording and publishing the life stories of visually impaired individuals as autobiographies through designers' visual and sensory planning, and to strengthen the university's ESG practices.

In particular, students from Baewha Women's University's Digital Content Design and Visual Media programs will participate in the "Visually Impaired Autobiography Production Project" led by the Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center. Through their expertise in cover and interior design as well as editing, they will enhance the visual composition and completeness of the autobiographies and practice social value through volunteer contributions.

The faculty members of Baewha Women's University's Digital Content Design program stated, "We are delighted that our students can apply the professional knowledge they have learned in the classroom to share meaningful warmth with our society," and added, "We hope that this autobiography production project will become a precious record of life for visually impaired individuals and serve as an opportunity for aspiring designers to learn the value of inclusive design in the field."

The visually impaired autobiography production project, initiated through this Memorandum of Understanding, will be conducted with a goal of completion by December this year. In the future, the organizations plan to jointly hold a publication celebration event and autobiography exhibition to raise awareness in the local community.
