Yong-in Special City Mayor Lee Sang-il Listens to Residents' Concerns at Gwanggyo Ssangyong Forenew 1st Complex Under Construction
Yong-in Special City Mayor Lee Sang-il visited Gwanggyo Ssangyong Forenew 1st Complex in Sanghyeon-dong, Suji-gu on the 28th and announced that he listened to residents' opinions regarding the nearby multi-family housing construction project.
This was the mayor's second visit to the complex, following his visit to the 2nd Complex in July. The meeting was attended by city officials, representatives from the residents association, and approximately 30 residents.
Residents expressed concerns that if multi-family housing is built in the area around 342 Sanghyeon-dong, there would be concerns about obstruction of views and sunlight rights as well as deterioration of the residential environment. They also raised concerns about potential soil contamination since the site was formerly a gas station.
The mayor said, "If I were a resident living here, I think I would have raised similar issues," and added, "It is important to make efforts to resolve problems from the residents' perspective." He further stated, "I urge public officials to take responsibility and actively seek solutions," and requested that the project developer take residents' concerns seriously and actively engage in consultations.
The project involves constructing a total of 108 units consisting of 96 apartment units and 12 officetel units in a single building spanning 2 underground floors to 15 above-ground floors.
