Get 5% Additional Cashback When Using Gyeonggi Regional Currency at Fair-Price Businesses

Starting in September, customers who pay with Gyeonggi regional currency at fair-price businesses in Gyeonggi Province can receive an additional 5% cashback on their transaction amount, in addition to existing charge incentives.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 31st that it will implement the "Fair-Price Business Additional Discount Support" project from September 1 to December 31. However, the actual implementation date may vary depending on each municipality's regional currency operation schedule.

This project is part of the "2026 Regional Love Gift Card Special Support" initiative promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to support small business owners facing difficulties due to high prices and high interest rates, and to stabilize consumer prices.

Fair-price businesses are establishments designated and operated by municipalities after comprehensive evaluation based on prices lower than surrounding areas and factors such as hygiene and cleanliness. As of June 2026, there are 1,722 fair-price businesses accepting regional currency in Gyeonggi Province.

The discount effect is amplified when charge incentives and additional discounts are applied together. For example, when paying 100,000 won at a fair-price business in a municipality offering a 10% charge incentive, customers receive an additional 5,000 won (5% of the transaction amount) in cashback on top of the 10,000 won benefit already received at the charge stage, for a maximum benefit of approximately 15%. Cashback is automatically provided after payment.

Target businesses can be found on the Fair-Price Business website (www.goodprice.go.kr) by selecting "Gyeonggi Province" for region and "Regional Currency" for facilities. Customers can also verify eligibility through the fair-price business designation placard attached to the business entrance.
