On the 8th, Gyeonggi Province Education Superintendent An Min-seok visited Cheonglim Middle School, an outstanding RAS Gyeonggi reading, arts, and sports education school where students engage in reading, arts and culture, and sports education in their daily lives, to encourage the students.
On that day, education office officials and guests in attendance observed in sequence a morning reading session at the library and soft baseball and futsal conducted as OASIS activities at the sports field, followed by table tennis using the school facilities, badminton at the gymnasium, and a student orchestra practice.
Cheonglim Middle School operates various activities to enable students to experience sports in their daily lives. The futsal team won first place at the Gyeonggi Province Sports Club Festival and was selected as a representative of Gyeonggi Province. The school also operates sports activities including soft baseball, badminton, and table tennis.
Cheonglim Middle School is an arts-focused school and a hub school for the Hwaseong City Student Orchestra, hosting annual regular concerts and implementing arts education.
Additionally, the school strengthens reading education through the "Reading Premier League," which performs various monthly reading missions and selects outstanding classes, and the "Morning Book Club," a morning reading activity.
Furthermore, Cheonglim Middle School has collaborated with parents and the local community to be certified as a "Fair Trade School" by the Korean Fair Trade Village Committee. The school operates the "Clear Forest Book Café," which connects the school and local community, and supports reading and cultural activities and student autonomous club activities in partnership with the Village Education Community Social Cooperative.
Gyeonggi Province Education Superintendent An Min-seok stated, "Outstanding school cases like Cheonglim Middle School, where RAS reading, arts, and sports education is implemented well, should spread throughout Gyeonggi like dandelion seeds," and emphasized, "I hope RAS schools will be activated in all regions of Gyeonggi Province, completing the Gyeonggi-style RAS map."
