Five Retired Racehorses to Be Retraineadas Riding Horses and Offered for Sale on the 14th

Gyeonggi Province will offer five retired racehorses that have undergone systematic training at the riding horse training center, operated by the Gyeonggi Province Horse Industry Association, through public auction on the 14th.

The auction will be held on that day at 1:30 p.m. at the riding horse complex of the Gyeonggi Province Livestock Promotion Center. The horses up for sale are a total of five animals: Jeongsanghae Dotgi, Elppida, Stunning Point, World Tayo, and Cowboy Tango.

Prior to the auction, a preliminary demonstration will be held so participants can directly verify the condition of the horses and their capabilities as riding horses. The physical condition and gait of the horses will be examined, riding tests will be demonstrated, and demonstrations will also be conducted for horses capable of jumping obstacles.

The horses being offered for sale have been retired from racing and then retrainedat the riding horse training center for equestrian use. They have been trained for beginner riding and outdoor riding, and some horses have been evaluated as having potential for use in jumping events.

The auction will be conducted using a non-public sealed bid method with a base price of 1.5 million won. Among participants who bid at or above the base price, the person offering the highest amount will receive the winning bid, and the winning bidder will enter into a sales contract on the auction day.

Lee Yang-soo, director of the Gyeonggi Province Livestock Promotion Center, stated, "This is a project to enable retired racehorses to engage in activity again as riding horses through systematic training and to supply highly useful horses to equestrian sites in the province. We will continue to expand the utilization of retired racehorses and create a safe riding environment by continuing to train and supply riding horses."
