Hwaseong Special City Convenes 'Third Term Sustainable Development Committee'...to Discuss Values of Growth, Inclusion, and Fairness

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) held the appointment ceremony for the Third Term Hwaseong Special City Sustainable Development Committee and convened its first regular meeting on the 10th at the Hwaseong City Hall conference room.

The Hwaseong Special City Sustainable Development Committee is an organization that deliberates and advises on the city's sustainable development-related policies. It is composed of a total of 25 members, including ex officio members such as the Hwaseong Special City Mayor and appointed members including experts in the sustainable development field, members of the Hwaseong Sustainable Development Council, and city council members.

At the first regular meeting held following the appointment ceremony, participants shared progress on Hwaseong Special City's sustainable development master plan and its future evaluation plans, and exchanged opinions on major policy directions.

Committee members agreed that sustainable development is an important value that must be reflected in city administration across all sectors—environment, economy, and society. Furthermore, they reached consensus that systematic implementation and continuous monitoring of implementation are necessary to enhance the effectiveness of policies.

Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun stated, "Sustainable development is a core value that must be pursued to improve the quality of life for citizens in the present while securing the future competitiveness of our city." He added, "I will faithfully reflect the expertise of committee members and diverse voices from the field in city administration to further strengthen the foundation of a sustainable city where present and future generations can prosper together."

Meanwhile, Hwaseong Special City plans to systematically monitor the implementation of sustainable development policies based on the committee's policy consultation and evaluation functions, and to reflect the values of growth, inclusion, and fairness across city administration.
