Yongin Western Fire Department Conducts On-Site Safety Inspections at Shopping Malls and Transit Hubs ahead of Chuseok Holiday

Yongin Western Fire Department (Fire Chief Oh Eun-seok) announced that on the 10th, it conducted on-site safety inspections at Lotte Mall Suji Branch and Seongbok Station area to prevent fires and accidents at multi-use facilities ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The on-site safety inspection was organized to examine fire-prone factors at Seongbok Station and Lotte Mall, where an increase in visitors is expected during the Chuseok holiday, and to strengthen safety management capabilities of relevant personnel.

On the day, the fire department gathered information on major facilities from officials and conducted focused inspections on △evacuation environment confirmation at multi-use facilities including Lotte Cinema △securing evacuation routes for visitors △maintenance of evacuation and fire prevention facilities △confirmation of initial response systems centered on the disaster prevention center.

Large retail facilities are characterized by numerous visitors present simultaneously and complex internal structures, making swift evacuation and initial response critical in case of fire. Therefore, thorough safety management is necessary, including maintaining evacuation routes at all times and keeping response systems in place among relevant personnel.

Fire Chief Oh Eun-seok said, "As visitor numbers increase at retail facilities and public transportation facilities during the Chuseok holiday, more careful fire safety management is needed than usual," and urged, "We ask relevant personnel to make every effort in managing evacuation and fire prevention facilities and in initial response procedures during fires so that citizens can use facilities safely."
