Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) held the '27th Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony and Social Welfare Expo' at City Hall Sky Plaza and Ace Hall on the 10th.

Mayor Lee Sang-il met with social welfare workers and citizens at the social welfare expo venue set up at City Hall Sky Plaza by social welfare organizations and groups in the region. He listened to and exchanged views with workers dedicated to social welfare to establish better welfare policies.

In his commemorative address at the ceremony, Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "Through the social welfare expo at City Hall Sky Plaza prepared by social welfare organizations and groups in the region and citizens, we were able to form a consensus on the path we must take toward a better community society," and added, "This commemoration ceremony holds meaning in bringing together mutual consideration and shared will among local constituents to make Yongin an even warmer living community."

At the ceremony, 41 individuals dedicated to building a comprehensive social welfare system in the region received commendation certificates as meritorious social welfare workers.

Krafton, which operates talent development educational institution 'Jungle Campus' in Yongin, donated 70 computers for children and youth in the region. The donated items will be provided to community children's centers, youth shelters, and social welfare organizations in Yongin.

Prior to the ceremony, a 'Social Welfare Expo' was also held at City Hall Sky Plaza on the same day with the participation of 40 social welfare organizations in the region.

The event featured 40 booths divided into four categories: promotion, sharing, hope, and experience, which hosted promotional activities and bazaars, introductions of sponsoring company activities, disability awareness improvement education, and elderly experience events.

Additionally, spectacular performances by Yongin University's Taekwondo Demonstration Team, Yongin City Women's Chorus, and a disabled band, as well as magic performances, brought joy to participants.

Park Su-chul, Chairman of Yongin City Social Welfare Council, said, "Social welfare begins from a heart toward people, and the strength of social welfare lies in extending a hand to those in difficulty and standing by them so they can rise again," adding, "Today's event will serve as a venue for communication and solidarity where social welfare organizations and groups in the region share their experiences and participate together."
