Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Center Successfully Promotes RAS Character Development Through Internationalization in Mongolia
The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Center (Director Kim Young-gwan) operated the 'K-Culture Student Ambassador Project' in the Ulaanbaatar area of Mongolia.
The five-day event, held from the 6th to the 10th, was attended by a total of 28 people, including 20 students from Gyeonggi Province and accompanying teachers.
The ambassador group visited School No. 52 in Ulaanbaatar on the 7th and the Affiliated School of National Teacher's University on the 8th, operating 'K-Culture Festivals' on various themes.
Cheonghak High School introduced the 'Cheongsang Yeolcha Bunyajiji' (Star Map of the East) based on Joseon Dynasty astronomy and folk paintings, while Yongjuk High School presented an experience of assembling the structure of a traditional Korean hanok house in miniature.
Shinwon High School conveyed the beauty of the Korean language through poetry recitation themed on Hangul, and Pungsan High School prepared performances combining hanbok, Hangul, and K-POP dance.
Namyang High School enjoyed traditional Korean games such as tuho (stone-throwing game) and gonggi (knucklebones game) with Mongolian students, and local school students responded with performances of Mongolian traditional music and dance, creating a venue for Korean-Mongolian cultural exchange.
The activities prepared by students span the areas of reading, arts and culture, and sports education, aligning with Gyeonggi Province Office of Education's 'RAS Character Development Education' initiative. The expansion of RAS education beyond borders into the international education field is noteworthy.
Kim Young-gwan, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education International Education Center, said, "This K-Culture Student Ambassador Project was a meaningful opportunity for our students to showcase our culture to the world with content they prepared themselves and to share hearts with Mongolian students. We will continue to provide various support so that Gyeonggi Province students can grow into global democratic citizens through international exchange."
