Jang Dong-hyuk, floor leader of the People Power Party, escalated the offensive from the ruling party toward the government within a single day, following remarks on personnel matters, real estate policies, and financial and education issues, to President Lee Jae-myung's impeachment.

According to political circles on the 17th, Jang criticized the Lee administration's cabinet reshuffle at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, stating it was "worse than doing nothing," and demanded a withdrawal and renewal of the cabinet and Blue House.

In particular, he criticized the confirmation hearing for Kim Seung-won, nominee for Justice Minister, as "low-grade comedy," arguing that various allegations surrounding the nominee were not sufficiently addressed. He continued his criticism toward Defense Minister nominee Kang Shin-chul and economic and land minister nominees.

The government's comprehensive farmland survey also came under fire.

Regarding the comprehensive farmland survey, Jang raised issues of difficulties faced by elderly and tenant farmers and a contraction in farmland transactions, arguing that the survey should be suspended and an apology should be made to farmers. The People Power Party continued its offensive against the government on farmland issues by having farmers from the Yesan region in South Chungcheong Province attend that day's Supreme Council meeting.

On financial policy, he targeted the introduction process of single-stock leveraged ETFs. Jang raised suspicions that former Blue House Policy Director Kim Yong-beom led the policy implementation and announced the People Power Party's stance to pursue a so-called "ETF Gate" special prosecutor investigation.

Regarding the server error incident in the continuous application receipt system for university admissions, he demanded the Education Minister's resignation and announced plans to organize a party leader-led "Fair University Admissions Task Force."

He also applied pressure on President Lee's press conference scheduled for the 18th.

Jang demanded answers on constitutional amendments for presidential term renewal, presidential trial issues, Kim Seung-won's nomination, real estate and diplomatic security policies, and argued that it would be better to cancel the press conference if no position is taken on these matters.

The offensive intensity increased in the afternoon.

When the National Assembly's Legislative and Judiciary Committee adopted the confirmation hearing report on Kim Seung-won with a "qualified" opinion led by the Democratic Party, with People Power Party members walking out, Jang claimed through his SNS that "President Lee Jae-myung must have ordered this."

He then criticized the Democratic Party as a "Blue House branch office" and again raised the president's trial and appeal issues.

He then stated, "The gift our people most want to receive this Chuseok is 'the impeachment of Lee Jae-myung.'"
