Suwon's Gwonseon District Dementia Relief Center Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Creating Dementia-Friendly Environment

Suwon's Gwonseon District Dementia Relief Center received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in the excellent dementia program category at the "19th Gyeonggi Province Dementia Awareness Day Commemoration Ceremony" held on the 22nd at the Gyeonggi Human Resource Development Institute.

At the event hosted by the Gyeonggi Wide Area Dementia Center, Gwonseon District Dementia Relief Center was recognized for contributing to the creation of a dementia-friendly environment where dementia patients and their families can live with confidence through dementia management and awareness improvement activities in cooperation with the local community.

Suwon Women's University, the leading organization for dementia prevention at Gwonseon District Dementia Relief Center, received a commendation from the Gyeonggi Province Governor. Two elderly people with dementia registered at the center also won the grand prize and encouragement award in the dementia awareness improvement drawing competition.

An official from Gwonseon District Dementia Relief Center stated, "This achievement is more meaningful because it was accomplished together by the institution, university, and elderly people with dementia," and added, "We will continue to cooperate with universities and related organizations so that the local community can view dementia with warm eyes."
