'West Sea Sunset' at a Glance…Seohaerang Cable Car Offers 'Hwaseong Citizens 1+3 Discount'
Hwaseong Special Metropolitan City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) announced that the Seohaerang marine cable car, which connects Jeonggok Port and Jebu Island, will run the 'Hwaseong Citizens 1+3 Discount' promotion from September 24 to October 11 during the Chuseok and Hangeul Day holidays.
The promotion expands the approximately 30% discount previously applied only to Hwaseong citizens to include up to 3 accompanying visitors. When a Hwaseong citizen visits with 3 family members or acquaintances from other regions, all four can receive the discount, saving up to 28,000 won.
Seohaerang operates across a total 2.12-kilometer section at a maximum height of 60 meters and is Korea's longest marine cable car, offering panoramic views of the West Sea, the mudflats of Jebu Island, and the reddening sunset all at once. As the only cable car in the Seoul metropolitan area to traverse across the sea, it has become a representative marine tourism destination in the capital region, allowing visitors to enjoy seasonal changes in the seascape.
Seohaerang is also working to revitalize tourism where visitors stay longer by linking with mudflat experiences around Jebu Island and restaurant exploration. The cable car is also expanding communication with visitors through seasonal discount events and SNS participation-based promotions.
A Seohaerang official stated, "We prepared this promotion to create special memories for family visitors coming to Hwaseong during Chuseok and the autumn holidays," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to vitalize West Coast tourism and promote the charm of Jebu Island."
