Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) is recruiting a total of 41 participants across three categories of equestrian experience support programs to promote emotional stability and healthy physical activity for underprivileged groups and youth.

This recruitment targets ▲10 participants for public-interest equestrian experience ▲13 participants for youth educational equestrian programs ▲18 participants for student equestrian experience (public-interest), with different recruitment periods and application methods for each program.

The public-interest equestrian experience program targets 3 people with disabilities, 5 people from socially disadvantaged groups including low-income families, multicultural families, single-parent families, and North Korean defectors, and 2 people from trauma-prone professions such as military personnel, police officers, and firefighters. Participants will receive full support for a total of 10 equestrian sessions and rider insurance premiums.

Applications are accepted until October 8. Interested participants should complete an application form through relevant organizations and departments and submit it to the Livestock Policy Division of Hwaseong Special City. The program is scheduled to operate through December.

The youth educational equestrian program targets a total of 13 youth, including 6 out-of-school youth and 7 victims of school violence. Participants will receive full support for a total of 30 equestrian sessions and rider insurance premiums, as well as opportunities for emotional stability through bonding with horses and career exploration in the equestrian industry.

Applications are accepted until October 8. Youth interested in participating can apply through relevant youth support organizations and counseling centers.

The student equestrian experience (public-interest) program provides 10 equestrian sessions to 18 elementary, middle, and high school students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and students with disabilities within the city. The program helps students build confidence and concentration through equestrian activities and experience healthy physical activity.

Applications can be made until October 13 through the Horsepia website (www.horsepia.com). Applicants must register as members and enter an identification code provided individually by their school to apply. Selection results will be announced individually via text message after 4 p.m. on October 20. Applications are not on a first-come, first-served basis, and applicants may not be selected if the number of applications exceeds the recruitment quota.

Lee Byeong-sang, Director of the Livestock Policy Division, said, "Equestrian experience is an activity through which one can achieve emotional stability and build confidence by bonding with horses. We hope this program will provide people with disabilities, socially disadvantaged groups, and youth with new experiences and opportunities for psychological recovery."
