The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's International Education Institute (Director Kim Young-gwan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 6th with the Kirishima City Board of Education in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan to strengthen educational exchange and international education cooperation.

The agreement, conducted at the Kirishima City Board of Education in Japan, took place with attendance from both institutions' officials including Director Kim Young-gwan and Board Chair Ikeda Koichi.

Through the agreement, both institutions pledged to mutually cooperate to ensure stable operation of inter-school exchange programs, including promoting school-to-school international exchange matching to expand students' international experiences and activate exchange between schools.

The main cooperation contents include ▲Building a cooperation system for continuous international exchange between both institutions ▲Promoting school-to-school international exchange matching between Gyeonggi Province and Kirishima regions ▲Providing information and operational support needed for inter-school international exchange programs ▲Activating student-centered sustainable international exchange.

In particular, following the international exchange matching, the institutions plan to support diverse exchange activities tailored to each school's circumstances, including online class exchange, cultural exchange, and joint projects, aiming to move beyond one-time visit-focused exchange and establish a regular and sustainable inter-school international exchange system.

Kim Young-gwan, Director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's International Education Institute, stated, "Through this agreement, we have established a cooperation foundation to stably promote international exchange between schools in Gyeonggi Province and the Kirishima region," and added, "Going forward, we will actively support school matching and exchange program operations between the two regions, expanding opportunities for students to understand each other's education and culture and to communicate with the world."
