A large number of job seekers flocked to the "Semiconductor Industry Zone" at the job fair held on the 14th by Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) at the second-floor plaza of Yongin Mirrstadium, demonstrating the popularity of the semiconductor industry.

The newly established "Semiconductor Industry Zone" featured 11 semiconductor companies including TESW Co., Ltd., Jusung Engineering Co., Ltd., Surplus Global, Texon Co., Ltd., Rocesis Co., Ltd., and Horiba Stec Korea Co., Ltd., conducting on-site interviews with job seekers.

The "Semiconductor Industry Zone" on that day attracted job seekers of various ages from their 20s to 40s and 50s, reflecting public interest in the semiconductor industry.

In particular, in Yongin, the development of Samsung Electronics' Idong and Namsa-eup Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor Cluster National Industrial Complex and SK Hynix's Wonsam-myeon Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex has accelerated, with semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies successively moving into Yongin.

Reflecting these characteristics, the city established the "Semiconductor Industry Zone" at the job fair to strengthen job connections between materials, components, and equipment companies and job seekers, and to revitalize the local economy.

Mayor Lee Sang-il visited the job fair venue, inspected various booths, encouraged job seekers participating in on-site interviews, and expressed appreciation to the corporate hiring staff for their efforts.

At the General Recruitment Zone with 31 participating companies, on-site interviews were conducted by various companies including KNR System Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of industrial robots; Samu F&G Co., Ltd., a Samsung Electronics product delivery and installation company; Ian Global, a cosmetics manufacturer; and Brooks Instrument, an industrial machinery and equipment company.

Side events of the job fair included semiconductor measurement and process experiences, generative artificial intelligence (AI) experience, resume photo shoots, and interview makeup techniques, which were highly popular with job seekers. The city also operated various programs including aptitude assessments, fingerprint aptitude tests, and finding personal job strengths using temperament and character assessment (TCI), enhancing job seeker satisfaction.

Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "In Yongin, the world's four largest semiconductor equipment companies including Applied Materials, Lam Research, and Tokyo Electron have either already entered or confirmed their investment," and added, "If the semiconductor project proceeds successfully, we expect jobs to increase further."
