The Changdeokgung Palace Management Office of the National Heritage Administration's Palace Heritage Division will hold an advanced special viewing program titled "Entering the Living Spaces of the King and Queen, Changdeokgung Palace Inner Quarters" from October 20 to 31, allowing visitors to explore the interiors of Huijeongjdang and Daejojeon, the living spaces of the king and queen.

This program is designed to provide an in-depth experience of the daily life of the Joseon royal court and the modern royal family by directly visiting the palace's inner quarter areas, which had been off-limits to the public. Visitors will tour Huijeongjdang, which served as the king's office and living space, and Daejojeon, the queen's bedchamber, and can examine Western-style facilities such as a VIP restroom and the Daejojeon barbershop where Emperor Sunjong had his hair groomed, along with paintings and calligraphy, with explanations provided by professional docents.

The event runs Tuesday through Saturday with two sessions daily (10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.). For safety and a comfortable viewing environment, participation is limited to adults aged 19 and over, with a maximum of 24 people per session. October 31, the final day, will be held as an invitation-only event, with general admission available only until October 30 for registered participants.

There is no admission fee for program participation, though a separate Changdeokgung Palace entrance fee applies. An official from the Changdeokgung Palace Management Office said, "We hope this becomes an opportunity for visitors to directly experience the history, traditions, and modern changes that permeate the palace by exploring the deep inner quarters that were previously difficult to access."
