10 Small Businesses in Suwon Target 2 Billion Muslim Market
Suwon Metropolitan City (Mayor Lee Jae-joon) is operating the 'Suwon City Export Development Mission to Middle East Alternatives' from the 20th in Indonesia and Singapore, key trading hubs for the 2 billion Muslim market.
Suwon City is implementing a policy to support export companies facing difficulties due to Middle East trading risks by actively facilitating the widespread distribution of excellent Korean Wave (K) products in Muslim regions and enabling local businesses to diversify their export markets.
Suwon City selected 10 small and medium businesses manufacturing Korean Wave (K) products in May. The export development mission operates as a project in which Suwon City collaborates with local specialized trade institutions, with Suwon businesses visiting buyer businesses guaranteed by the local city to conduct export consultations.
The 10 companies held export consultations with 50 buyer companies in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 20th and visited business sites to develop export markets. On the 22nd, they will move to Singapore to meet 50 buyer companies for export consultations and are scheduled to visit buyer business sites on the 23rd.
Singapore and Indonesia are key hubs for the 2 billion Muslim trade. Among ASEAN countries, Singapore ranks first in imports (638 trillion won) and Indonesia ranks third (319 trillion won).
