Blocking Ransomware and Personal Data Leaks...Up to 3.6 Million Won Security Subsidy Available
The Gyeonggi Economy and Science & Technology Promotion Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) will support small and medium-sized enterprises in the province with up to 3.6 million won in cloud-based security service (SECaaS) implementation costs to respond to cyber threats.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) oversee the project, with the Agency's Gyeonggi Information Protection Support Center participating as the implementing body in the Gyeonggi region. Participating companies will be recruited until the end of November.
The Agency emphasizes that it is critical to support enterprises in securing information protection capabilities by enabling them to utilize necessary security functions against cyber threats such as ransomware, supply chain attacks, and personal data breaches without having to build their own security infrastructure.
To receive support for security service implementation costs, applicants must be small and medium-sized enterprises located in Gyeonggi Province as specified in Article 2 of the ‘Small and Medium Enterprises Basic Act.’ Priority will be given to enterprises that hold personal information and those in AI, virtual fusion, and manufacturing sectors.
Selected companies will receive support covering 80% of the cloud-based security service implementation costs based on the supply price, up to a maximum of 3.6 million won per company. Enterprises are responsible for covering 20% of the supply price and value-added tax.
Agency Director Kim Hyeon-gon stated, “Cybersecurity is now an essential element for stable business management and sustainable growth of enterprises,” and added, “We will expand support so that small and medium-sized enterprises in the province can proactively respond to cyber threats and establish a safe digital business environment.”
