'Residents' Path' Becomes a Landscape...Dongcheon Library Hosts Town Art Exhibition Until the 25th
Dongcheon Library in Yongin Special City is holding an exhibition of residents' town landscape works titled 'Pictures, Becoming Memories' at 'Book Forest' on basement level 1 through the 25th.
The exhibition, which began on the 20th, was organized by Dongcheon Library in collaboration with 'Art Platform Kkumjirak Cooperative,' a local arts organization. The daily memories are reflected in the works that residents personally drew while walking through their neighborhood.
Fourteen residents are participating in the exhibition, showcasing about 80 works depicting 30 major locations in Dongcheon-dong and Gogi-dong.
One citizen who participated in the exhibition said, "By drawing the town landscapes that we usually passed by casually, I was able to discover new charms of our neighborhood," and added, "I hope many people will appreciate the works and have a moment to recall precious memories connected to our town."
'Art Platform Kkumjirak Cooperative,' which planned the exhibition, is an organization of local residents who love art and engage in various cultural and artistic activities, operating diverse classes and cultural events.
A city official stated, "This exhibition is an opportunity to share precious memories of our town through the landscapes of Dongcheon-dong and Gogi-dong as directly observed and drawn by residents," and added, "We hope many citizens will have time to appreciate the familiar town landscapes as paintings at the nearby library and reminisce about precious memories in their daily lives."
