Osan City has requested the government to provide budgetary support for projects including the reopening of Gajang-dong Western Road and the establishment of a road crossing the Gyeongbu Railway line.

Mayor Yong-ho Jo of Osan City met with Minister Woon-jung Yoon of the Ministry of Interior and Safety at the Government Seoul Building on the 22nd and proposed that the government support 26.7 billion won in special grants for the advancement of 15 area projects in Osan City.

At the meeting, Mayor Jo stated, "With rapid population growth following urban development such as the full move-in to Segyyo District Phase 2, the construction of various SOC infrastructure including roads and neighborhood facilities and the recruitment of standard personnel are urgently needed," and emphasized that "support from the Ministry of Interior and Safety is essential."

In response, Minister Woon-jung Yoon replied, "I will carefully review the matters requested by Osan City and work together to find solutions."

At the meeting, Mayor Jo emphasized urgent pending issues of great citizen concern and demand, including the reopening of Gajang-dong Western Road (10 billion won), the establishment of a road crossing the Gyeongbu Railway line (10 billion won), and the opening of an access road to the Northern Osan IC of the Second Metropolitan Circumferential Expressway (800 million won).

In the disaster and safety sector, Mayor Jo emphasized the need to prevent flood damage and strengthen the disaster information delivery system by supporting project funds for replacing aging pumps at the Sinjang stormwater drainage pump station, installing disaster information boards, and installing CCTV for crime prevention.

He also requested project funding support for facility improvement projects closely related to residents' daily lives, including the opening of urban planning roads in Segyyo-dong, functional enhancement of the Southern Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, environmental improvement of Chopyeong Library, and the maintenance project of children's playgrounds.
