Ahead of the full implementation of the high school credit system and the 2028 college admissions overhaul, Gyeonggi Province Office of Education (Superintendent Ahn Min-seok) will operate 'Regional College Admission Information Centers' in all 25 education support offices.

This initiative aims to address the rapidly growing demand for customized counseling from students and parents amid changing college admission environments including relative evaluation at the 5th percentile for school grades and integrated college entrance exams, and to reduce disparities in college admission information and counseling opportunities between regions and schools.

"With the expansion of Regional College Admission Information Centers, all students will be able to receive high-quality customized college admission counseling in their local areas," said Kim Young-sook, Director of Secondary Education at the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education. "Through close collaborative efforts with local governments, we will successfully establish a region-customized college admission support ecosystem and enhance public education credibility."

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education has established the '2027 Gyeonggi College Admission Information Center Expansion Plan' and is building a public education-centered counseling system.

To supplement the geographic limitations of the existing Gyeonggi College Admission Information Centers (Suwon, Uijeongbu) and improve counseling accessibility for remote areas, the office has decided to establish Regional College Admission Information Centers tailored to local conditions in each of the 25 education support offices.

Regional College Admission Information Centers will expand counseling opportunities for students and parents by providing one-on-one customized college admission counseling in both face-to-face and non-face-to-face formats during after-school and weekend hours. Additionally, the centers plan to operate 'Integrated College Admission Expos' in collaboration with local governments during times when students apply for regular admissions and select their high school curricula.

The office will expand the number of 'College Admission Guidance Leader Teachers' who are knowledgeable about regional high schools' curriculum organization and local characteristics to 2,000 to establish a public education-centered counseling system.

The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education's College Admission Information Center will serve as the coordinating center, supporting and consulting with the 25 Regional College Admission Information Centers and developing and distributing 'Gyeonggi-style College Admission Materials' based on analysis of college admissions trends and regional counseling results.
