Yongin to Build 170,000-Sq. Meter Industrial Complex Near Semiconductor Cluster

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) approved the development plan for the 'Yongin Tongsam 2 General Industrial Park' to be constructed in the area around Lot 59-1, Tongsam-ri, Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu, on the 22nd.

The total area of 'Yongin Tongsam 2 General Industrial Park' is 176,234 square meters, with groundbreaking scheduled for May next year and completion targeted for December 2028. The project will proceed as a private development initiative with approximately 137.4 billion won in investment.

Industrial facility land covers 121,344 square meters, with the remaining space dedicated to support facilities backing industrial activities and residential conditions, as well as infrastructure including parking lots, roads, and parks.

The general industrial park is expected to attract businesses linked to semiconductor industry-related materials, components, and equipment sectors, including electronic components manufacturing, computer manufacturing, telecommunications equipment manufacturing, machinery and equipment manufacturing, and non-metallic mineral product manufacturing.

According to Yongin City, Surplus Global Co., Ltd., a globally recognized semiconductor used equipment company, has also expressed its intention to move into the industrial park in consideration of industrial linkage.

A city official stated, "With the 'Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor Cluster National Industrial Park' nearby and continued inflow of semiconductor-related businesses, we expect to achieve clustering effects."
