Yangju City Launches 7th Regulatory Reform Committee
Yangju City held a launch ceremony for the 7th Yangju City Regulatory Reform Committee on the 21st and began activities for regulatory innovation.
Over the next two years, the committee will work on establishing regulatory innovation implementation plans for Yangju City, deliberating and advising on major regulatory matters, and reviewing the establishment and strengthening of regulations.
The 7th Yangju City Regulatory Reform Committee is composed of a total of 12 members, including 4 ex-officio members and 8 appointed members due to the vacancy of the deputy mayor position. City council members, professors, researchers, and lawyers among the appointed members have strengthened the committee's expertise and objectivity.
The meeting reviewed new and strengthened regulations. Committee members listened to explanations from the departments responsible for the agenda items and conducted in-depth discussions through question-and-answer sessions, focusing on whether the relevant provisions fall within the scope of delegation from higher-level regulations and the appropriateness of the level of regulation.
Kim Jae-gyou, Director of Planning and Coordination (acting as committee chair), said, "Regulatory innovation is an important task to resolve inconveniences for citizens and businesses and to invigorate the local economy," adding, "We will continuously identify and improve unreasonable regulations and promote regulatory reform that citizens can feel."
