Last winter, heavy snow concentrated in the season caused pine tree branches native to Paldal Mountain to break.

In response, Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) has created and unveiled the 'Restart Forest Rest Area' using snow-damaged trees from Paldal Mountain.

Remnants of pine trees that fell due to heavy snow in the winter of 2024 were selected and processed to create 21 log chairs, which were installed on the 28th in a green area near Seongshin Temple on Paldal Mountain (55-22 Namcheong-dong).

Information signs for the 'Restart Forest Rest Area' were also installed at two locations to inform visitors of the purpose and usage information of the rest area.

Shin Hyun-sam, director of Suwon City's Hwaseong Project Office, said, "The Restart Forest Rest Area, created by utilizing fallen trees, is a symbolic space where visitors can experience both forest damage recovery and resource recycling," and added, "We hope that visitors to Paldal Mountain will take a break and share the value of resource circulation."
