November 1st (Sunday), the first day of the month, will see mostly overcast skies nationwide with autumn rain falling in various locations starting from the central region. Morning temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 3 degrees, bringing chilly transitional weather.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 31st, rain will begin in the central region in the morning of the 1st and expand to most areas nationwide including the southern region and Jeju Island by afternoon. In high mountainous areas of Gangwon above 1,200 meters elevation, snow is expected in some locations instead of rain.

Rain will mostly subside by night in Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi Province, and central and northern Gangwon, while in other regions rain may continue through the early morning of the 2nd. Particularly, Jeju Island is expected to experience strong rainfall around 20mm per hour accompanied by gusts at night, requiring attention to facility management and accident prevention.

Morning low temperatures are forecasted at 3~10 degrees, with daytime highs of 11~18 degrees. Morning low temperatures for major regions are as follows: ▲Seoul 5 degrees ▲Incheon 6 degrees ▲Suwon 6 degrees ▲Chuncheon 3 degrees ▲Gangneung 9 degrees ▲Daejeon 6 degrees ▲Gwangju 7 degrees ▲Daegu 6 degrees ▲Busan 9 degrees ▲Jeju 14 degrees, etc.

Fine dust concentration will show 'moderate' levels across most of the nation, but the Daejeon, Sejong, North Chungcheong regions, Honam area, and Jeju area will temporarily show 'bad' levels during daytime hours.

[Living Guide] "Layer thin clothing" as temperatures drop sharply…Be cautious of gusts in Jeju and southern regions

• Clothing: Morning low temperatures will drop to 3 degrees with wind, making the felt temperature even lower. Rather than wearing one thick coat, it's better to layer thin clothing on top of each other (layering) and wear a thin scarf or muffler to maintain body heat.

• Health Management: During transitional seasons when temperatures drop sharply after rain subsides, immunity weakens easily. Drink warm water frequently to keep the respiratory tract moist, and pay attention to hygiene management such as washing hands and feet thoroughly after going outside.

• Safety and Facility Management: Strong rainfall around 20mm per hour accompanied by gusts is expected overnight, centered on Jeju Island and southern regions. Be careful to inspect outdoor facilities such as signboards and canopies, and secure sufficient safety distance while driving to and from work since roads will be slippery due to rain.
