[News S=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The presidents of the city councils of Suwon, Osan, and Hwaseong met on the 4th to discuss plans for cultural cooperation.

On that day, Kim Mi-kyung, President of Suwon Special Metropolitan City Council, Kim Jong-wook, President of Osan City Council, and Lee Gye-chul, President of Hwaseong Special Metropolitan City Council, held a lunch meeting and discussed the matter.

This meeting was arranged to explore directions for cooperation as the three cities, which share King Jeongjo's spirit of compassion for the people and reform spirit, advance as a single cultural community based on historical and cultural solidarity.

The participants agreed that although Suwon, Osan, and Hwaseong have different administrative divisions, they are cities that share historical roots and cultural values related to King Jeongjo.

They also exchanged opinions on the need to utilize this as a cultural asset for the coexistence and joint development of the three cities.

In particular, they decided to jointly discover historical and cultural content centered on King Jeongjo and connect the cultural resources and characteristics of each city, while seeking cultural cooperation projects that citizens can experience in various fields such as cultural events and festivals, tourism, and education.

Meanwhile, Seong Gil-yong, Senior Secretary of Congressman Cha Ji-ho's Office, also attended the meeting.

Kim Mi-kyung, who led the meeting, said, "Suwon, Osan, and Hwaseong are cities where the compassion for the people and the footsteps of reform of King Jeongjo are alive, and they are connected beyond administrative divisions by a single history and culture." She continued, "If the three cities cooperate closely by leveraging their respective cultural strengths, they will be able to provide citizens with richer cultural experiences and further enhance the region's cultural competitiveness." She further stated, "Suwon Special Metropolitan City Council will continue to communicate with Osan City Council and Hwaseong Special Metropolitan City Council and make joint efforts so that the 'Cultural Coexistence Special City of King Jeongjo' can lead to substantive cultural cooperation."
