[News S=Reporter Eom In-yong] Choi Hyun-deok, the Democratic Party's candidate for Nanyangju mayor, held consecutive policy agreement ceremonies on the 1st with the Democratic Labor Federation's Guri-Nanyangju City Representative Council and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' Gyeonggi Northeast Regional Branch.

At the agreement ceremonies, both major labor federations expressed deep empathy and trust in Candidate Choi's labor policy vision and sincere communication efforts, and declared they would provide active support and full backing for Candidate Choi to be elected in the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections.

At the agreement ceremony with the Democratic Labor Federation's Guri-Nanyangju City Representative Council (Chairman Kim Bo-seop), both sides agreed on six major tasks to develop local politics and create Nanyangju City where labor is respected.

The two parties agreed to make efforts to establish substantial collective bargaining structures between Nanyangju City and labor unions at public institutions, private contractors, and government-funded enterprises to improve treatment of non-regular workers in the public sector in accordance with the revised trade union law.

They also agreed on promoting the establishment of a 'Worker Support Specialized Organization' scaled to the city's expansion, constructing a model city for eliminating industrial accidents and creating jobs for local workers through monthly 'Labor-Management Mediation Council' meetings, promoting the effectiveness of gender-equal employment disclosure systems, and preventing workplace harassment.

In particular, they agreed to actively cooperate with the relocation of Wonjin Green Hospital to Nanyangju City, which is crucial for employment stability of hospital workers, and resolved to institutionalize 'Quarterly Labor-Government Policy Coordination Meetings' to realize all these tasks.

Subsequently, at the agreement ceremony with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' Gyeonggi Northeast Regional Branch (Chairman Ham Heung-young), concrete implementation measures for improving workers' quality of life and spreading a culture of respect for labor were confirmed.

Candidate Choi Hyun-deok pledged to prepare administrative and financial support measures for the organization and activation of labor unions in the city, as well as gradual increases in labor organization subsidies reflecting the current high-price situation.

In particular, the long-cherished project of workers from the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' Gyeonggi Northeast Regional Branch—the 'construction of a Workers' Welfare Center'—was formalized as Candidate Choi's core election pledge, and the two sides agreed to closely coordinate and design it to become a center for welfare, education, and community.

Additionally, they strengthened city government participation and support for major events such as Labor Day commemorative ceremonies and confirmed the holding of regular meetings twice a year (once each in the first and second halves) to establish a foundation for substantive communication.

Candidate Choi Hyun-deok stated, "I will heed the warm support and encouragement sent by both major labor federations today as a serious mandate to dramatically transform Nanyangju's labor environment," and added, "To create Nanyangju City where workers' sweat is valued, workplaces are safe, and quality of life is enriched, I will immediately upon election adopt the contents of this agreement as core tasks in city administration and faithfully implement them."
