Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority Holds 'ESG and Innovation Idea Contest'
[News S=Kim Jong-sik, Senior Reporter] The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority (Acting President Kim Geum-gyou) is holding the '2026 ESG·Innovation Idea Contest' open to all citizens until July 3 to realize ESG (environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and transparent management).
The contest themes are composed of 'ESG sector' and 'Innovation sector' linked to the corporation's projects and operations. Specifically, these include △(Environment, E) carbon neutrality and climate crisis response, RE100 and energy efficiency, eco-friendly practices, resource circulation, and marine pollution reduction △(Social, S) regional community co-prosperity and private sector cooperation, addressing low birth rates and regional depopulation, strengthening safety, disaster management, and industrial safety △(Governance, G) data-driven transparent and ethical management, regulatory improvement and proactive administration, expanded civic participation and public communication △(Innovation) AI and digital-based work innovation, citizen-experienced public services, and data-driven public innovation.
Any citizen interested in the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority may participate, with each individual able to submit only one idea. Submitted ideas will undergo expert review to select a total of 4 winners (1 Grand Prize 500,000 won, 1 Excellence Prize 300,000 won, 2 Encouragement Prizes 200,000 won each). Winners will receive a certificate of commendation from the corporation president and prize money paid entirely in 'Local Love Gift Certificates' to invigorate the local economy. Additionally, all winners will be provided with a 'Experience All-Pass 2-Person Pass' to the Gyeonggi Marine Safety Experience Center, which the corporation manages under delegation from Gyeonggi Province.
Those wishing to participate can download the proposal and consent forms from the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority website (www.gppc.or.kr) announcements section, fill them out, and submit them via email (idea@gppc.or.kr). Final results will be announced on the website and communicated individually in the fourth week of July after the review process.
