Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority Hosts 'ESG and Innovation Idea Contest'
[News S = Kim Jong-sik, Senior Reporter] The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority (Acting President Kim Geum-gyu) will hold the '2026 ESG·Innovation Idea Contest' for all citizens until July 3 to realize ESG (environmental friendliness, social responsibility, and transparent management).
The contest themes are composed of 'ESG sector' and 'Innovation sector' linked to the corporation's projects or operations. Specifically, these include: △(Environment, E) Carbon neutrality and climate crisis response, RE100 and energy savings, eco-friendly practices, resource circulation, and marine pollution reduction △(Social, S) Coexistence with local communities and private cooperation, response to low birth rates and regional decline, strengthening safety, disaster management, and industrial safety △(Governance, G) Data, transparent management and ethical management, regulatory improvement and proactive administration, expansion of resident participation and public communication △(Innovation) AI and digital-based work innovation, public services felt by citizens, and data-driven public innovation.
Any citizen interested in the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority can participate, with one submission per person allowed. The received ideas will undergo expert review, and a total of 4 winners will be selected (Grand Prize 1 winner 500,000 won, Excellence Prize 1 winner 300,000 won, Encouragement Prize 2 winners 200,000 won each). Winners will receive a certificate of merit signed by the corporation's president, and prizes will be paid entirely in 'local love gift certificates' to boost the local economy. Additionally, as an extra prize, all winners will be provided with a '2-person experience all-pass' for the Gyeonggi Marine Safety Experience Center, which the corporation manages under delegation from Gyeonggi Province.
Those wishing to participate can download the proposal and consent forms from the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority website (www.gppc.or.kr) notices section, complete them, and submit via email (idea@gppc.or.kr). The final results will be announced on the website and notified individually in the 4th week of July after review.
