Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Launch Running Tourism Platform 'Run Gyeonggi' on the 6th
Starting from the 6th, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization have unveiled 'Run Gyeonggi (RUN GYEONGGI),' a tourism platform combining running and travel, launching a locally-linked tourism service featuring 10 travel products and 46 local guides across 31 cities and counties in the province.
Run Gyeonggi was developed in partnership with Moon Academy Inc., the operator of 'CLTOO,' a running travel platform selected through Gyeonggi Province's tourism startup collaboration project competition. The dedicated website (www.rungg.co.kr) allows users to view and apply for 'Run Trips'—travel products that experience local tourism resources while running—as well as regional running programs, recommended courses, and local tourism information all in one place.
The province will initially collaborate with 10 cities and counties within the province to sequentially introduce 10 Run Trip products—either day trips or one-night, two-day formats—utilizing the region's natural environment and tourism resources.
The first product is a one-night, two-day Run Trip running through the Turtle Island and Wave Park area in Siheung City while enjoying marine tourism. The event will be held from August 22 to 23, recruiting 25 participants. Applications can be made on the Run Gyeonggi website starting August 7.
In September, a trail running program targeting female participants will be held along the Gimgwang Lake loop trail in Anseong City. Subsequently, Run Trip products combining regional natural scenery, tourist attractions, and local cuisine will be sequentially released in Suwon, Yangpyeong, Hanam, and other areas.
Activities of 'Gyeonggi Pacer 31,' which will discover running courses across all 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province and expand local running culture, will also accelerate in earnest. Gyeonggi Pacer 31 consists of 46 local guides selected from running enthusiasts with high understanding of their respective regions.
The Gyeonggi Pacers personally discover running courses featuring their region's characteristics and plan and operate regional programs where participants run together. This represents a departure from conventional tourism that only visits famous attractions, instead following guides knowledgeable about their areas while running through alleys, riverbanks, parks, and hidden gems.
Courses and activities discovered by Gyeonggi Pacers are continuously accumulated on the Run Gyeonggi website. The province plans to utilize these as regional running tourism information and serve as a foundation for developing diverse running tourism products throughout Gyeonggi Province in the future.
