Public-Private Joint Social Contribution Event for Transportation-Disadvantaged at Dongtan Family Pool
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) held a social contribution event on the 24th at Dongtan Family Pool, providing water play and leisure experience opportunities for transportation-disadvantaged residents within the city.
The event was organized to utilize a closed day at Dongtan Family Pool, offering safe and enjoyable water play and leisure experiences during the hot summer months to those who face difficulties with mobility and outdoor activities. It aims to realize inclusive welfare through public facilities and promote community coexistence values.
The event was jointly prepared by Hwaseong Special City, Hwaseong Urban Development Corporation, and Dongtan City Hospital. Hwaseong Special City provided the Dongtan Family Pool facility, Hwaseong Urban Development Corporation handled on-site management and operations on the event day, and Dongtan City Hospital deployed medical personnel to respond quickly to any emergencies.
Participants enjoyed cooling off from the heat and leisure activities using Dongtan Family Pool's water facilities and rest areas. In particular, by ensuring a safe environment for water play and relaxation, the event is expected to provide a special summer experience for transportation-disadvantaged individuals who typically face restrictions on outdoor leisure activities.
Cha Sung-hun, director of the Industrial and Green Space Project Office, stated, "I hope this event becomes a time for transportation-disadvantaged individuals and their families to enjoy leisure comfortably and forget the summer heat," and added, "We will enhance the social value of public facilities to become open leisure spaces for all and expand opportunities for transportation-disadvantaged individuals to participate in leisure activities."
