The Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Education Center participated in the ‘1st Korea National Literacy Education Policy Exhibition’ held at Osco Convention Center in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province on the 27th and 28th, and operated a promotional experience center to showcase Gyeonggi Province's literacy education policies and achievements.

The exhibition was hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, with participation from metropolitan and provincial governments and lifelong education organizations across the country.

On the first day of the event, the 27th, the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Education Center received a commendation from the Minister of Education at the ‘2026 Literacy Month Commendation Ceremony for Lifelong Education Contributions’ for its contributions to adult literacy education support and enhancement of digital literacy competency.

During the exhibition period, at the Gyeonggi Province promotional booth, digital literacy programs were operated on the theme of ‘Gyeonggi Province's First Step in Literacy, One Step Forward with Digital’ that allowed visitors to directly participate and experience. Visitors learned how to use kiosks to make hospital reservations and order cafe beverages, and viewed a digital literacy poetry exhibition utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).

Additionally, digital teaching materials including the elementary supplementary textbook series ‘Plus’ and the preparatory middle school series ‘Didim’ developed in-house by the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Education Center were displayed, and at a cooperative booth with participation from 31 cities and counties, outstanding case examples by region were shared.

Park Myung-hye, acting director of the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Education Center, said, “This was a venue to share the literacy education achievements that Gyeonggi Province has built in the field with the entire nation while demonstrating the direction that literacy education should take in the AI and digital era,” and added, “We will continue to expand digital literacy education support so that the learning that provincial residents truly need in their lives can be realized.”
