Hwaseong Opens 3rd Mobile Worker Rest Facility in Bongdam with 24-Hour Unmanned Operation
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) opened the '3rd Mobile Worker Rest Facility' near the Donghwa Parking Tower public parking lot in Bongdam-eup (Donghwa-ri, Bongdam-eup 601) on the 31st and began full-scale operations.
This facility is the third mobile worker rest facility, following the 1st facility that opened at Dongtan North Plaza in February of last year and the 2nd facility that opened at 1471-2 Hagil-ri, Hyangnam-eup in November of the same year.
The city established the facility to provide a safe and pleasant rest space for mobile workers who work outdoors for extended hours, including substitute drivers, delivery and courier personnel, and tutoring instructors. It will also be utilized as a public safety rest facility that residents can use to prepare for extreme heat and cold waves.
The facility is equipped with various convenience amenities including sofas, tables, air conditioning and heating systems, hot and cold water dispensers, and mobile phone chargers so that mobile workers can take breaks comfortably.
Considering the work characteristics of mobile workers who are particularly active during late-night hours, a QR code authentication access system and an unmanned management system have been introduced. The facility operates 24 hours a day, year-round.
Yu Jung-hyeon, head of the Labor-Management Cooperation Division, said "The mobile worker rest facility is a rest space to protect the health and safety of workers engaged in outdoor activities amid climate crises such as extreme heat and cold waves," and added "We hope that this 3rd rest facility becomes a space where mobile workers can comfortably rest and recharge whenever they need to."
