Hwaseong Mayor Jung Myeong-geun Visits Fire Department Ahead of Chuseok to Urge Public Safety

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) announced that on the 22nd, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, Mayor Jung Myeong-geun visited Hwaseong Fire Department to encourage firefighters who remain on duty to protect citizens during the holiday season, and discussed cooperation measures for fire prevention and disaster response.

This visit was arranged to express gratitude for the efforts of firefighters who remain at their posts to prepare for various fires and disasters during the Chuseok holiday, and to examine the disaster response system so that citizens can spend a safe holiday.

On this day, Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun had an informal conversation with Fire Chief Jung Gui-yong of Hwaseong Fire Department and other fire officials, and received explanations on the fire department's main operations and the disaster response system for the Chuseok holiday. He then met with firefighters on duty to convey holiday greetings and encourage them for their efforts in the field.

As fire safety demand continues to increase due to population growth and expansion of industrial and logistics facilities, Hwaseong Special City will maintain a close cooperation system with Hwaseong Fire Department and plans to strengthen prevention activities for fire-vulnerable facilities and rapid on-site response in case of disasters.

In particular, the city plans to expand support for fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and smoke detectors to populations vulnerable to fires, and implement projects for fire prevention in daily life such as distributing and installing fire safety masks. Additionally, the city will strengthen the disaster response system to ensure rapid initial response and accident recovery when fires occur.

The city will also continue to cooperate with relevant agencies to expand local fire facilities including the construction of the East Fire Station and the Mado Chemical Rescue 119 Safety Center, and plans to strengthen the firefighting response infrastructure to protect citizens' lives and property.
