Interview Young Entrepreneur Kim Beom-yeon, CEO of 'AquaMine': "Healthy Water Can Transform My Body Into a Healthy One"
[News S=Reporter Eom In-yong] 'MineralMaker,' developed by young entrepreneur Kim Beom-yeon, CEO of 'AquaMine,' who has garnered attention by publishing a book titled 'Belief Creates Wealth,' is gaining explosive popularity, including participation in the '2026 KLAC (Korea Latte Art Championship)' Seoul Cafe & Bakery Fair.
CEO Kim discovered that after analyzing the secrets of people from the world's five longevity villages, they all drink mineral water, which led him to found 'AquaMine.'
We met with CEO Kim Beom-yeon, who founded 'AquaMine' with the belief and management philosophy that "healthy water can transform my body into a healthy one."
Below is a Q&A.
- What was the reason for participating in the '2026 KLAC (Korea Latte Art Championship)' held at Seoul SETEC (Seoul Trade Exhibition Center) last month?
"After learning that water helps improve gastrointestinal disorders and diabetes, I began to deeply research the positive effects water has on the human body, and as a result, I developed 'MineralMaker.' I participated in the '2026 KLAC' to expand the base and promote MineralMaker."
- What led you to found 'AquaMine'?
"People from the world's five longevity villages drink mineral water. The academic community has already published research results in SCIE international academic journals showing that mineral water (MARW) generated by MineralMaker protects kidney cells damaged by high blood sugar levels, and it is currently being cited as an excellent paper. Additionally, the Korea Food and Drug Administration has recognized that alkaline ionized water helps improve gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion and chronic gastritis. Based on this evidence, I founded AquaMine."
- What prompted you to incorporate MineralMaker with coffee, a beverage loved by Koreans?
"98% of coffee taste is determined by water. MineralMaker's magnesium alkaline ionized water, which revitalizes the body, is a functional water that maximizes the inherent taste of food and is actively used in the F&B industry. Starting in early 2023, I began full-scale development of purification filters for cafes and have been supplying them. At that time, most of the purification filters used by numerous cafes in Korea were imported products from overseas. Products tailored to water quality in Europe and the Americas were being used as-is in Korea's completely different water environment—a truly absurd situation. This was when coffee machine suppliers and others were unaware that purification filters play 'a 98% role in determining coffee taste' beyond simply removing chlorine from tap water."
- I understand you have toured exhibition halls nationwide?
"I visited cafes across the country with MineralMaker purification filters and personally demonstrated that magnesium minerals are essential to enhance coffee taste using Korea's mineral-deficient tap water (soft water). Beginning with the Busan BEXCO exhibition hall in early 2024, I participated not only in domestic exhibitions such as Suwon, Seoul SETEC, and COEX, but also in international coffee exhibitions in Vietnam and India."
- You also published a book titled 'The Secret to Perfect Coffee Taste'?
"I compiled cases where dull coffee from all over the country was reborn into excellent taste upon meeting the MineralMaker purification filter and published 'The Secret to Perfect Coffee Taste.' It's a 98 to 2 game—water determines the outcome. I highlighted the minimum coffee knowledge necessary for cafe operations, and the fact that what ultimately matters most in enhancing coffee taste is 'coffee beans and water.' Additionally, I learned roasting expertise from coffee experts with over 20 years of experience, and through 'SCA Q Instructor,' I studied CVA (Coffee Value Evaluation) and sensory courses in depth, acquiring 'SCA Q Grader (International Coffee Taster) Certification' to properly evaluate coffee value."
- What are your future plans?
"By using MineralMaker, we can increase the value of coffee, prevent leakage of costs, and ultimately complete profitability so that cafes can grow into 'businesses that continuously earn money.' I want MineralMaker to greatly contribute to the prosperity of all those engaged in the coffee business."
