News S, through an editorial in the paper on the 7th ("Pay more attention to the safety of visitors at the '2026 Suwon National Heritage Night Walk'"), predicted that more people would participate in the Suwon Night Walk this year. At the same time, it anticipated that the influx of tourists would inject vitality into nearby commercial areas.

As expected, the '2026 Suwon National Heritage Night Walk,' composed of '8 Nights (夜)' programs themed around eight categories—△Night Scenery (夜景) △Night Road (夜路) △Night History (夜史) △Night Painting (夜畵) △Night Tales (夜說) △Night Market (夜市) △Night Food (夜食) △Night Lodging (夜宿)—welcomed over 264,000 visitors, more than double the approximately 100,000 visitors from last year's night walk, achieving tremendous success.

The event actively addressed concerns about visitor safety due to congestion at the venue. It also received praise for being well-prepared in the management of cultural heritage, which is often overlooked at night. However, the chronic parking problem remained an unresolved issue.

The event was hailed as the most successful in its history. Local merchants welcoming the influx of customers could not hide their smiles. One small fried chicken restaurant even closed early due to a shortage of chicken.

As positive reviews from citizens and tourists continued, the city decided to extend the Suwon National Heritage Night Walk until the 30th. Of course, not all programs from the previous three days will be repeated during the extended period. Attractions will continue around three key locations: 'Yongnyeon Gat Lanterns' and 'Banghwa Bridge Lanterns' that decorated the Yongnyeon area, 'Hwahongmun Media Art' that was held in the Hwahongmun area, and nighttime lighting displays at Maehyang Bridge and Suwon Stream. On the 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th, the traditional Korean music performance 'Hwahong Pungryoo' will be held in the Yongnyeon area. At Hwaseong Haenggung, in connection with night opening hours, the 'Joseon Moonlight Market' and 'Haenggung Willow Market' will also be held.

This year's Suwon National Heritage Night Walk was a successful event. It was the result of the joint efforts of Suwon City, the Suwon Cultural Foundation, and all organizations and residents in the Suwon area working as one. Regarding the factors behind the success of this year's 10th night walk, a foundation official explained that it was due to various nighttime programs that combined the historical value of national heritage with contemporary cultural content.

That is correct. Furthermore, the night walk has evolved with each passing year. This year alone, the event expanded its programs and spaces, strengthened content utilizing media art and smart technology, and became an even more abundant and diverse event. It is already anticipated what kind of evolved programs the Suwon National Heritage Night Walk, aiming to be Korea's representative nighttime cultural heritage festival, will present next year.
