From the private sector, nine companies participated including Naver Webtoon, Nevi Games, Blackstorm, Superfast, Smilegate, NC AI, Control Nine, Team Sparta, and Pleaders.
From the academic sector, nine educational institutions joined including Gyeonggi Game Meister High School, Gyeonggi Science and Technology University, Gyeongmin University, Dongyang University, Bucheon University, Shingu University, Yeonsung University, Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, and Hanshin University.
From Curriculum Revision to Connection with 'PlayExpo' - Practical Support
Participating institutions discussed concrete practical cooperation methods at the launch ceremony including ▲advancing educational curricula reflecting industry field needs ▲supporting focus group testing (FGT) for new releases utilizing the user base of university students in the province ▲industry-academic projects and business matching linked with the game show 'PlayExpo (PlayX4)'.
The Gyeonggi Content Agency plans to hold the first regular council meeting in November to confirm core implementation tasks for 2027. Going forward, it will operate regular meetings at least three times per year and establish itself as a permanent policy council.
Director Tak Yong-seok of the Gyeonggi Content Agency stated, "Since roughly half of the nation's game departments and enrolled students are concentrated in Gyeonggi Province, it was urgent to establish governance that organically connects industry and academia," and added, "We will spare no effort in supporting so that development companies can produce high-quality games and students can grow into talent that can be immediately deployed in the field."
