300 Kindergarten Principals Gather to Discuss Major Transformation of Gyeonggi Early Childhood Education
The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education (Superintendent An Min-seok) held a policy consultation meeting with principals of public and private kindergartens to realize the transformation of Gyeonggi early childhood education, sharing the core values of the Gyeonggi early childhood education transformation in connection with the policy direction of new Gyeonggi education.
The consultation meetings held on the 1st and 7th at the Northern and Southern Headquarters respectively were attended by approximately 300 kindergarten principals, who shared major issues in Gyeonggi early childhood education and discussed field-oriented policy implementation measures.
In particular, the provincial Office of Education presented major policy directions for the transformation of early childhood education in the second half, including ▲improvements to future-oriented early childhood education systems ▲education involving kindergartens, families, and communities together ▲strengthened support for early childhood education and care ▲expanded student health management support. Notably, this consultation meeting featured collaboration between the Early Childhood Education Division and the Early Childhood Education and Care Integration Preparatory Team to comprehensively present integrated early childhood education and care policies.
At the 'Current Issues Practical Seminar,' a pediatric specialist presented real case examples addressing the role of kindergarten principals and response measures for children's health and safety, focusing on infectious disease and emergency response management that principals need to know.
The 'Policy Empathy Seminar' featured Lee Geon, former principal of Sema High School, explaining major policy directions of Gyeonggi education transformation, including phone-free education and RAS arts and physical education, from an early childhood education perspective, creating a time for cross-grade collaboration and sharing.
The 'Umul Hyeondap' session, meaning 'when you ask our kindergarten, there is a wise answer,' provided a two-way communication forum where field experiences and opinions were shared, moving away from one-way policy delivery to allowing field voices to shape policy.
