Yongin Dongbaek Middle School Implements AI and Digital Education Centered on Learning and Sharing
Dongbaek Middle School (Principal Lee Min-ja) operated an 'AI and Digital Creative Convergence Camp' for elementary and middle school students in the Yongin area on the 21st.
This camp is significant as a practice of 'breaking down barriers between school and community.' Dongbaek Middle School structured activities to help students grow as active learners by asking questions on their own, collaborating with friends, and taking ownership of their learning.
This is meaningful as it aligns with the direction of 'people-centered AI era education,' which prioritizes collaboration in the process of learning technology.
As part of the Gyeonggi-type AI and Digital Competency Growth School project, local students had the opportunity to directly experience AI and digital technology and implement their own ideas.
Students participating in the camp used micro:bit and sensors to detect changes in their surroundings and engaged in activities to make devices respond through coding. Afterward, they brainstormed ideas in groups, created works, and improved their results by solving problems discovered during the operation process together.
Lee Min-ja, principal of Dongbaek Middle School, said, "I hope that students' experience of creating things themselves and solving problems with friends will become the foundation for growth," and added, "We will continue to share the school's educational resources with the community and foster activities that develop the potential of each student."
